Ottawa, ON CANADA: July 2014
Today I arrived in Ottawa! I think I'll settle down with a glass of mead to get ready for the Kingdom of Osgoode Medieval Festival!
Turns out my host makes mead, the perfect way to get in the mood for a medieval festival! She only poured me half a glass though, I bet she thinks I'm a lightweight!
Got my bed all set up! Hope those loons don't holler all night...
Meeting my host's bunny, Spot. We weren't sure if she'd think my nose was tasty so we thought meeting through the cage would be safest. Bunnies can be ornery, you know!
I wasn't quite flexible enough to get on the steed they provided for me.
This is my host in her battle armour just after a swordwork demonstration.
The Knights of Valour are the same folks that brought you Full Metal Jousting a while back... they let me hold a sword and everything!
A few of the knights' horses are in the background. Many of them are rescues too!
I met a nice guy named R. G. Johnston who wrote a book called "Vinland: the Beginning". It sounded nifty! I wish I had time to read it but I'll be leaving on Monday for my next stop.
Today I got to go to the Osgoode Medieval Festival! I met an author and some knights and tomorrow I'm going to meet an armoured bear.
I got to visit with Thor the teddy bear at Thor's Trinkets, a chain mail artist!
