Fredericksburg, VA, USA: June 2013
Arriving at my host, Jae's, house in Virginia. Thor the cat greeted me at the door. (If you look closely, you'll see Thor)
Princess and I enjoyed a quiet afternoon bird watching out the front door. My host has kitties and ratties, like me!I got to say hi to Jae's two boys. This is Xander. He is really funny.
This is Spike... He offered to share his yummy pasta with me!
My first day in Virginia is winding down...Tomorrow Jae is taking me on a road trip to PA! We are helping with a rat transport! I will get to meet five ratties who are going to a rescue here in VA Good night friends!
I'm on a road trip for a rat transport today! My host, Jae and I, just crossed the PA state line, then we get to meet members of the Pittsburgh Rat Lovers Club and pick up five rattie friends I can't wait to meet them!
I got to drive for a minute on Sunday, while passing thru Maryland on our way up to Breezewood, PA!
We made it! This is where we met to pick up my five rescued rattie friends! — atMaryland/Pennsylvania State Line.
Yesterday was a long day, I got to meet five rattie friends who were rescued in PA. This morning I rode with my new friends to Dakotas Dream Rescue in VA. They will find their forever homes soon! Now, I'm off to work with my host, riding with the big dogs!
If you're ever in the area, Carl's Ice Cream is a must! This evening Jae and Dawn took me out to explore Fredericksburg!
Fredericksburg is rich in Civil War history...
I got to sit on a real cannon!
The area has so many battlefields, here we visited the Fredericksburg Battlefield.
Dawn, my other host, is taking me to Washington, D.C. today! I'm hoping to get to see the White House! Doing the happy rat dance!
Here is The White House! I had a lot of fun visiting Washington, DC yesterday! — at The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
I would have loved to have seen the President! —
Here is another shot of me in front of The White House
And here is the US Capitol, the meeting place of Congress!
Here is the newly constructed Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial — at Martin Luther King Memorial.
My host got to see this for the first time too... — atMartin Luther King Memorial.
Here I am in front of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial! — at The Tidal Basin & Thomas Jefferson Memorial, DC.
The Tidal Basin is beautiful, people like to paddle boat on the Potomac when the weather is nice...
Here is the Washington Monument. It is the tallest structure in the city. Here the Monument is surrounded in top to bottom scaffolding undergoing repairs due to earthquake damage it suffered last year in 2012. — at Washington Monument National Monument.
My host Jae and I
Dawn, my other host...enjoying the shade.
I got to be a trucker and drive in a tractor trailer today!
I had to climb way up to get inside...
10.4 Trek
My host & I riding around...
Shifting gears!
I like big trucks!
A piggie!
It is hot in the city! Pea fishin' later sounds like a nice way to cool off, heheh
Four rows back, I can see everything!
Even though the Nats lost the cotton candy was a winner...
More pictures from yesterday at the ballpark
Enjoying my last day in Virginia. Tomorrow I catch my flight out to California! I can't wait to see out West and to meet my next host. I will miss Jae & Dawn, we've had so much fun this past week
